Thank you for shopping at AKIN. We hope you love your pieces as much as we do and thank you for helping us support a different type of fashion. Your purchase helps carry our project of promoting the work of artisans internationally and maintaining local cultural traditions and heritage that have existed for centuries.

However, we understand that occasionally you might not be entirely satisfied with your purchase. We are here to help.

RETURNS
We accept returns on all online orders, with exclusion of final sales items (all sale, discounted items and special orders) and those made to measure.

We will accept item (s) provided they are returned as new, i.e. are unworn, in the same condition that you received it and in their original packaging, including tags, within 30 calendar days of receipt of delivery.

Customer is responsible for and arranges all international return shipping costs. We cannot be responsible for return shipments that are lost in transit, so please make sure that you obtain tracking information for our return and insure your package appropriately.’’

We are unable to refund any duties and taxes paid. You can pursue a refund of duties with your local tax agencies.

All prices are in euro. If you are paying with a different currency card or debit card, please check your card issuer for conversion rates and any changes you may incur on foreign currency. Refunds will be issued in euro, but please be aware that conversion rates may differ from the time of the original transaction.

If you are returning an item form outside of the European Union, please ensure this is marked clearly and visibly on the package as RETURNED GOODS. Failure to mark the package as RETURNED GOODS may cause delays and incur custom duties for which akin cannot be held responsible.

Please include your Return Form with a note detailing your request.

To complete a return, please note the following steps. Please make sure you read this information and follow the steps below in full before sending your item/s back:

  • Email us at hello@wearakin.com to let us know you would like to return your item (s) using your order number as reference.
  • Please complete the Return Form included in the original shipment.
  • When your item is shipped to you, it will include a pre-printed return shipping label. Please attach this label to the original shipping packaging and seal the package.
  • Please drop your package for return.
  • Within 2-3 working days of our receipt of your return, you will receive an email that your return has been processed. We will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, your refund will be credited to the credit card or original method of payment. Refunds are for product only and do not include initial shipping cost. Please allow 7-10 business days for the bank to post the refund to your account.
  • If you would like to process a return but don’t have the original pre-printed return label please include your order number in the shipment and send to MARILAU ROSERVICES, Malu Rosu Street No. 67A, Ploiesti 100491, Prahova, Romania. REFUNDS
Our policy lasts 30 calendar days. If 30 days have gone by since you received your order, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund. Please note we do not do exchanges. You will need to place a new order.

To be eligible for a refund the item (s) must be returned as new, i.e. unworn, in the same condition that you received it and in their original packaging, including tags, within 30 calendar days of receipt of delivery.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable):

  • Any item not in its original condition is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
  • Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.


Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment. Please allow 7-10 business days for the bank to post the refund to your account.

Late or Missing Refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you have done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at hello@wearakin.com.


Sale Items
Only regular priced items may be refunded. Unfortunately, sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)
We do not offer direct exchanges. If you would like to exchange your purchase, please return your original item for a refund (less original shipping cost) following the return process and visit our website to purchase a replacement.

Made to Measure Items
We cannot accept refunds or exchange requests on ‘Made to Measure’ items unless they carry major production faults, so please feel free to ask as much info as possible before placing your order. Custom made items are made to order specifically for you and we take extra care to ensure all your measurements are correct, and that you have fully approved the fabric and size selection. Should the items carry a production fault that can be corrected without compromising the integrity of the garment, AKIN will endeavour to repair it at no additional charge.

 

Welcome Code
Items purchased with the welcome code are not considered sale, and therefore can be refunded as non-sales items.

Gifts Return Policy
We are happy to make return arrangements for any item received as a gift, provided it was not a final sale item. We will issue an electronic gift card which will be sent to you via email. The electronic gift card will not expire. We do not offer refunds for items received as gifts. To arrange the return of items received as a gift, please contact us at hello@wearakin.com.

Items purchased through Gift Card vouchers cannot be refunded.

 

FAULTY ITEMS
Most of our items are of artisanal nature, and therefore material irregularities, slight variations in colour, texture and markings may occur. The elaboration of our items respect craftsmanship and artisanal techniques making each a unique piece. The small differences are the distinctive proof that it is truly handmade.

We recommend following the care and washing instructions on the label and handling with extra care.

However, if you believe you have a faulty item, please email us for instructions. Great care is taken to ensure that you do not receive a faulty item but in the unlikely event of this occurring please email us at hello@wearakin.com quoting your order number, and we will do our best to resolve any issue quickly for you. You will receive an exchange if possible or a full refund onto your original payment method and be reimbursed for shipping.
