The Fortuna gilet is our ode to the Romanian waistcoat. Inspired by the autumn colours, intricately hand embroidered details have been sewn throughout. Crafted from 100% wool felt, it has hook and eye fastening to allow to wear open or closed, two front pockets and contrast binding. We created this piece in collaboration with one of our talented artisans in Brasov County, Romania, who learned the craft of artistic embroidery from the older women in her village when she was young. Nowadays she has created a learning space with other artisans to share their knowledge to younger generations, so they can keep the traditions of the region alive. We wear it over loose bohemian dresses or paired with our favourite high waisted jeans when enjoying dinner al fresco with friends.
